Swedish rocks roll as Coutinho, Silva fly fourth

  • A Swede and two Brazilians moved into the top four on the overall leaderboard

  • Germany head home with only two of their players making double digits

  • Falcao, Kane, Lewandowski, Mane & Rodriguez are among the Day 15 captain options

Who’d have thought it? Andreas Granqvist, a 33-year-old who’s just returned to Helsingborgs from Krasnodar, second on the players’ leaderboard in the McDonald’s FIFA World Cup™ Fantasy. Yet that’s exactly where Granqvist is – above four-goal Cristiano Ronaldo – after he and fellow defender Ludwig Augustinsson both scored, helped Sweden keep an unforeseen clean sheet against Mexico, and registered a joint-high 12 points in Round 3.

Kim Younggwon and Thiago Silva got the same total, while the latter’s Brazil team-mates Paulinho and Philippe Coutinho got eight and seven points apiece, which made the Barcelona man the competition’s highest-scoring midfielder ahead of Denis Cheryshev and Luka Modric.

Germany, meanwhile, exit Russia 2018 with only two of their players – Marco Reus and Toni Kroos – having made double figures in the Fantasy.

Change your captain

This is your last chance to change your Round 3 captain. If you have Granqvist or Paulinho in your armband, you may not want to hand it to someone else. But if your skipper didn’t do as well as planned, you probably want to select a new one before the Day 14 deadline (16:00 CET on Thursday). Teams boasting Kevin De Bruyne, Falcao, Harry Kane, Robert Lewandowski, Sadio Mane and James Rodriguez are in action on Day 14.

Make substitutions

If a player in your starting XI didn’t perform well, you can substitute him out for a player on your bench who hasn’t yet played. However, if you want to bring in Michy Batshuayi for Timo Werner, you have up until the kick-off of the first game of the day (16:00 CET on Thursday).
