BDO was appointed by FIFA following a tender to ensure the protection of the integrity of the bidding process and monitor the correct implementation of the respective rules, in particular the fair and equal treatment of all member associations participating in the bidding process, the evaluation of bids by the 2026 Bid Evaluation Task Force, the designation of bids by the FIFA Council and the decision on the selection of the hosts by the FIFA Congress.

Overall, BDO did not identify any indications that FIFA did not comply with the rules of the bidding process.
