Turkey's Futbolist on brink of second FeCWC appearance

  • FIFA eClub World Cup qualifying participants Futbolist in focus

  • Second appearance in a row on the cards

  • Players with FeWC, FeCWC and FeNC experience

Futbolist first appeared on the eSports scene in 2017 with EA SPORTS FIFA, where they were represented by Ismail 'isopowerr' Can Yerinde.

They won the ESL Turkey straight off the bat and were also crowned EA SPORTS FIFA Balkan Champions, while 'isopowerr' also became the first Turkish player to reach the play-offs of the EA SPORTS FIFA Global Series. The crowning glory of this storied start to the club’s history came when they qualified for the FIFA eClub World Cup™ 2019 and went on to make it all the way through to the semi-finals.

The club now has 46 players, two professional streamers, two coaches, an analyst, a team manager and a physiotherapist. It has also set up a gaming house in Istanbul which is primarily used for streams and content production. Turkish international player and SV Werder Bremen star Nuri Sahin is a partner in the venture.

Eight of the 46 players are involved in EA SPORTS FIFA. Ivan 'BorasLegend' Lapanje and 'Isopowerr', who are representing Futbolist in FIFA eClub World Cup qualifying, both have plenty of experience under their belts.

Lapanje, who is from Sweden, only joined the club this year but has a third-placed finish to his name at the FIFA eWorld Cup 2016. He was also involved in the 2018 tournament and has FIFA eClub World Cup experience as well, flying the flag for Hashtag United in 2018. Earlier this year, he represented Sweden at the inaugural FIFA eNations Cup™.

After the first match day, the club find themselves fifth in Tier 1 of Pillar 5 in Europe, giving them every chance of once again making it through qualifying and into the FIFA eClub World Cup this year.
