It has been nearly a year since ‘MsDossary’ was proclaimed the EA Sports FIFA 18 World Champion. Over 20 million participated in qualifying and the Saudi Arabian was the last person standing after a 4-0 aggregate win over ‘Pinna97’ in the FIFA eWorld Cup cross-console final at The O2 in London.

As well as being the first to lift the new eWorld Cup trophy, the teenager bagged a staggering USD 250,000 prize and an exclusive trip to the The Best FIFA Football Awards 2018.

It was there that he was able to rub shoulders with superstars such as Sergio Ramos, Marcelo and Luka Modric.

“It makes it even more special to be crowned in front of such a big crowd,” said the Saudi Arabian, who relished playing in front of an audience at The O2, after his victory in London last year. “Before the tournament my aim was to get into the semi-finals but once I made it to the top four my aim was to get this trophy.”

'MsDossary' put in a series of standout showings at the tournament which saw him top the ‘Group of Death’ and dispatch then-Xbox top seed ‘Megabit’ and fellow heavyweight ‘Kurt0411’ en route to the final.

Arguably the most impressive performance of the lot was when the champion showed his versatility by beating ‘Pinna97’ on his preferred PlayStation console in the first leg of the final, before the eventual champion followed up with another 2-0 victory on Xbox.

“I think the experience definitely helped,” he said. “I made a lot of bad decisions in my first few tournaments this year, but now I’m used to live competitions and I just play my usual game style which is the most important thing.

“It’s such a high level of FIFA at this tournament - so in the end just small things matter. I won two trophies in the 2018 season and I hope that I can perform on the same level in 2019."

‘MsDossary’ has certainly carried that momentum into FIFA 19, claiming two FUT Champions Cup titles and securing qualification to the eWorld Cup by finishing as Xbox’s second seed behind ‘Tekkz’.

After another impressive year, the Saudi Arabian hopes to make history by becoming the first person to win back-to-back world titles on competitive FIFA.

“I want more and more,” he said back in April, reflecting on his 2018 triumph. “I really want to go back and win it again this year because no-one has done back-to-back world championships. I’m looking forward to it.”
