FIFA President sends his condolences for the death of César Salinas

On behalf of FIFA and the world football community, FIFA President Gianni Infantino sent his condolences to the Bolivian Football Federation and to the family, friends and loved ones of César Salinas, who lost his life on Sunday 19 July 2020.

"It was with great sadness that I heard of the death of President of the Bolivian Football Federation César Salinas. There are no words to express the sadness we feel for this tragic loss that affects us all."

In a letter sent to the Bolivian Football Federation, Gianni Infantino took the opportunity to recall Salinas' contributions to football:

"An exemplary football administrator, successful leader and businessman, and former president of The Strongest Club, César Salinas was a man committed to sport. Thanks to his undoubted human qualities, his legacy and career will be remembered and truly missed. He left us so early at the age of 58, but Cesar will remain in our memories," said the FIFA President about the man who became president of the Bolivian Football Federation in 2018 and made a decisive contribution to the restructuring of football and its promotion in Bolivia and South America.

"In these difficult moments of irreparable loss, we accompany them from a distance and hope that our words will serve as a small consolation."
