FIFA and UEFA working together to empower women leaders

Leaders in women’s football from across Europe and around the world gathered in Nyon, Switzerland on 5 December for a series of workshops as part of the UEFA/FIFA Women in Football Leadership Programme.

The seminar, which was part of a week-long gathering at the headquarters of UEFA from 3 to 7 December, focused on various topics and issues that aim to support the select women as they work to develop their leadership and mentoring skills within sporting institutions.

The keynote speakers were FIFA’s Chief Women’s Football Officer Sarai Bareman and former Germany international and 2014 FIFA Women’s Player of the Year Nadine Kessler, who is currently UEFA’s Head of Women’s Football.

Participants also heard speeches from UEFA’s Head of Education and Research Thomas Junod and FIFA’s Head of Women’s Development and Governance Emily Shaw.
