"Mo Salah, Mo Salah, running down the wing, Salah la la la la la la, Egyptian king."

Liverpool fans have barely stopped singing their favourite chant to Mohamed Salah in recent months, the Egyptian forward having become the darling of Anfield thanks to his incredible impact. Rattling in 32 Premier League goals and another 11 in the UEFA Champions League, he was a major contributor to an excellent season for the Reds last term, the club finishing fourth in the English top flight and reaching the European Cup final.

Salah's sparkling goal collection has brought him individual recognition as well. One of three finalists for The Best FIFA Men's Player, he is also a candidate for the FIFA Puskás Award courtesy of a truly breathtaking strike.

It came on 10 December 2017 as snow fell during a Merseyside derby against Everton. Salah controlled the ball after receiving a pass down the right from Joe Gomez and immediately wriggled free of Cuco Martina, spinning clear of his marker before dribbling past Idrissa Gueye in the area. Then came the crowning moment, a curling left-footed shot that finished high inside the far corner of Jordan Pickford's net.

Not just a thing of beauty, that magnificent feat of class and technique was also highly important, helping Liverpool to claim a point in a 1-1 draw. Given the huge rivalry between the Reds and Toffees, it is safe to say that Liverpool fans chanted Salah's name with even more gusto that day.
