Msdossary: I’ve always dreamed about meeting the top players

  • Msdossary won the FIFA eWorld Cup in London

  • Claimed $250,000 USD prize and an exclusive trip to The Best

  • "I’m really excited to be going to the FIFA Football Awards"

The EA Sports FIFA 18 World Champion, Mosaad ‘Msdossary’ Aldossary will be returning to the city where he was crowned the planet’s leading virtual football player. Last month the Saudi Arabian won the FIFA eWorld Cup Grand Final with a commanding 4-0 aggregate victory over Belgium’s Stefano ‘StefanoPinna’ Pinna at The O2 in London.

As well as taking home a staggering $250,000 USD prize and the tournament’s new trophy, Msdossary also bagged an exclusive trip to The Best FIFA Football Awards, where he will be given behind the scenes access to the world’s top players and coaches.

The prestigious event, taking place on 24 September at London’s Royal Festival Hall, will see Msdossary rekindle the fresh memories of his global success nearly seven weeks ago in the English capital.

"I’m really excited to be going to the FIFA Football Awards," Msdossary told FIFA.com. "Winning the FIFA eWorld Cup title was one of the best moments of my life, so let’s see if The Best will be my best yet!

"I’m going with my brother, who takes care of everything for me and who unfortunately couldn’t make it to the eWorld Cup in London last month. This is my gift to him."

Meeting the stars

As a follower of reigning UEFA Champions League holders Real Madrid, the list of stars Msdossary could rub shoulders with is mouth-watering. On top of The Best FIFA Men's Player nominee Luka Modric, a total of 11 Blancos stars are in the running for the FIFA FIFPro World 11.

Then of course there is their recently departed hero Cristiano Ronaldo, hoping to retain his Men's Player title, who stands as an idol for Msdossary and was in the Saudi Arabian's sights as soon as he lifted the FIFA eWorld Cup.

"I’ve always dreamed about meeting the top players, especially Cristiano Ronaldo and Luka Modric because I support Real Madrid, so I’m really excited," he said.

"The invitation to the awards was one of the reasons why I won [the FIFA eWorld Cup] because it gave me a lot of motivation to win.

"I’ve dreamed about meeting Cristiano on so many occasions. I’ve already met my Saudi icon when I was growing up, Mohammed Noor, but I’m yet to meet Cristiano."

Msdossary’s choice for The Best

  1. Cristiano Ronaldo "I’m an emotional guy so I could be wrong, but he did win a third UEFA Champions League in a row."

  2. Luka Modric "Modric had a fantastic year with his club and national team, so I think he deserves to be second at least."

  3. Mohamed Salah "Everyone in the Arab-speaking world supports him and wishes him the best of luck. It was emotional for us to see an Arabic player reach the top three."

Msdossary shares common ground with The Best finalists given he is undoubtedly among the best in his field. Since bursting on to the competitive FIFA scene, the Saudi Arabian has been victorious in two FIFA Ultimate Team tournaments in Whistler (2017) and Manchester (2018) before lifting the FIFA eWorld Cup title aged just 18.

So what does it take to be the No1 virtual football player? "Whenever the game comes out, I think I play for six hours every day. But then after three months, once I’ve adapted to the game and I feel I know everything about it, I just play the weekend league.

"You have to analyse everything you’ve done wrong to be the best because the competition is not easy at all."

Just like The Best finalists, Msdossary seldom rests in the pursuit to be the greatest in his field. Not long after the awards ceremony, the teenager will be straight back into the competitive FIFA circuit again with the official release of FIFA 19 later this month – and he is hungry for more glory.

"I’m really excited about FIFA 19 and I hope to be as good at it as FIFA 18," he said. "I have big ambitions for the new season. My aim is win at least one of the tournaments and get another trophy; I’ve been competing for two years and I’ve got three of them, so I want to keep adding more to the collection."
