FIFA.com’s coverage of the FIFA Congress, live from Zurich, kicked off this Thursday, when the opening ceremony at Theater 11 officially inaugurated the 65th gathering of the supreme legislative body of FIFA.

With regards to point 17 of the Agenda of the 65th FIFA Congress, the elections for the office of FIFA President featured two candidates: current FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter and H.R.H Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein from Jordan. This comes after both Portuguese former player Luis Figo and the president of the Dutch FA Michael van Praag notified FIFA about the withdrawal of their candidacies.
