  • Play-offs in Hamburg establish top 16 Xbox players in the world

  • Groups drawn based on the final placings

  • Overview of the Xbox entry list for the FIFA eWorld Cup 2019

After three exciting days of play-offs in Hamburg, the top 16 Xbox players in the FIFA 19 Global Series were locked in, and they will be the ones fighting for the FIFA eWorld Cup™ title in early August. The remaining 16 places for the tournament will be decided next week after the PlayStation play-offs in Berlin.

Here is an overview of the Xbox event in Hamburg along with the Xbox groups for the FIFA eWorld Cup:

Day 1

Favourites 'F2Tekkz' and 'Msdossary' and surprise packages 'SCP Diogo’ and 'Sakul' all managed to win their four group games, but it was already time to say goodbye after the first day for big names such as 'Ajax Joey’, 'Marcus Gomes’ and 'Ajax Dani’.

Day 2

The second day was all about 'Kurt', who came into the weekend ranked No55 but was one of the stand-out performers of these play-offs. 2017 champion Spencer Ealing and 'Vitality Rafsou’ meanwhile saw their tournaments come to a premature end. For 'Gorilla', this meant missing out on a chance of making it through to the main event, but the Frenchman still qualified for the FIFA eWorld Cup for the third time in a row.

Day 3

After some exciting quarter-final ties which saw team-mates Rebel FC and Rogue face off and 'F2Tekkz' defeat 'Kurt' in one of the stand-out matches of the tournament, we had the following semi-finals:

Semi-final 1: 'Rebel Stokes’ versus 'NSE Vini’ This was an extremely tight contest, with everything on the line for 'NSE Vini’ as a win would have seen the Brazilian through to the FIFA eWorld Cup. It was the Englishman who emerged victorious however, with the result seeing 'Ebinho' secure qualification instead.

Semi-final 2: 'F2Tekkz' versus 'NRaseck' It was Germany versus England with the latter emerging victorious, 'F2Tekkz' living up to his billing as favourite by making it through to yet another final, where he would have his eighth title of the season in his sights.

Final: 'Rebel Stokes’ versus 'F2Tekkz' An all-British duel with 'F2Tekkz' the red-hot favourite. He already had first place in the rankings secured, while 'Rebel Stokes’ was looking to bag some prize money and get himself a higher seeding in the bargain. The underdog seized his opportunity and saw off his seemingly unbeatable opponent to grab his first tournament victory of the year and leap up to fifth spot in the rankings.
