TheStrxngeR aiming for third consecutive appearance

  • Looking set to make it three years in a row at the FIFA eWorld Cupafter 2017 and 2018

  • Appearances at five of six FUT Champion Cups

  • Profile of Tim Katnawatos

The German is looking good to maintain his position just outside the top ten through the play-offs and make it into his third consecutive FIFA eWorld Cup. He currently sits in 12th spot in the FIFA 19 Global Series Rankings, with the top 16 after the play-offs securing a spot at the final event of the FIFA 19 Global Series.

Season in review

Tim 'TheStrxngeR' is one of the most consistent players in the FIFA 19 Global Series. The FC Basel star got the season off to a flying start, finishing runner-up at the SONY Continental Cup in Paris which was the opening event. He then made five out of six possible appearances at FUT Champions Cups, saving his best performances for the international stage, although domestically he lost his German eFootball title to 'MegaBit'. He was then called up to the German national squad and lent his support to those who took part at the FIFA eNations Cup at the training camp prior to the event. He has yet to win a title this season, but as he has shown in the past, he tends to save his best play for the biggest of stages.

Should Katnawatos make it through the play-offs and into the FIFA eWorld Cup 2019, it will be his third consecutive appearance at the Grand Final. In 2017 he was one of the dark horses in the tournament, causing quite an upset on the eFootball scene when he qualified. He showed plenty of potential at the Grand Final but came up short against tough competition and went out in the preliminary stage.

'TheStrxngeR' thus seems to improve with every year that goes by, as his development this season has proved, with the German firmly establishing himself in the upper echelons of the eFootball world. It will be interesting to see how he negotiates the play-offs this time around and whether he can secure a third Grand Final appearance on the bounce.
