Sportsclinic Eurovita, based in Sofia, Bulgaria, was founded in 2011 by Dr Ivan Vassilev, an orthopaedic surgeon practising in Germany and Bulgaria with significant experience in the field of sports orthopaedics and trauma surgery who is also an AGA (Deutschsprachige Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Arthroskopie) instructor for arthroscopy. Eurovita is the first private sports medicine clinic in Bulgaria.
The partners of the Sportsclinic Eurovita are in Austria, Germany and the USA (Sport Trauma Center, Göppingen, Atos Clinic Munich, Schön Klinik, Bad Aibling, Sportsclinic Austria, Innsbruck).
Sportsclinic Eurovita focuses on research, practice, progressive training and new surgical techniques and materials.
More than 50% of Eurovita’s patients are active in sports, mainly football, volleyball and alpine skiing. To provide the best medical care to professionals, the physicians of the Sportsclinic Eurovita support them as team physicians during competitions and football tournaments. In-patient and day-care surgical interventions are performed at the clinic. The surgeons of Sportsclinic Eurovita specialise in minimally invasive techniques and arthroscopic surgery, mainly on the lower extremities (hip, knee and ankle).
The mission of the clinic is to offer the highest quality diagnostics, treatment and rehabilitation of musculo-skeletal diseases and the fastest return to sport. They are developing several scientific programmes for the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of professional athletes. Their goal is to follow the player from the first day after an injury to the last day when returning to the team.
