London proved to be a happy hunting ground for ‘Nicolas99fc’ this year. The PlayStation king triumphed at January and March’s Gfinity FIFA Series, as well as claiming the FIFA eClub World Cup in a dream-team duo with Xbox No1 ‘Tekkz'.

It was also in the British capital that ‘Nicolas99fc’, along with compatriot ‘Yagocai’, helped Argentina to the final of the inaugural FIFA eNations Cup – a tournament in which he remained unbeaten in the 1v1s.

Representing his country in an official capacity for the first time on the world stage was a major milestone in the career of ‘Nicolas99fc’.

Nicolas Villalba of Argentina poses

"I always take my country wherever I am. Everyone who knows me knows that I am more Argentinian than anyone," he said in an interview with FIFA.com in May.

‘Nicolas99fc’ can draw confidence from his London exploits as he prepares to lock horns with the world’s best at The O2 in London.

Nicknamed ‘The Iceman’ due to his calm demeanour, rarely giving anything away when the stakes are high, ‘Nicolas99fc’ also goes into the eWorld Cup buoyed by winning the PlayStation Global Series Playoffs.

What they said

“London was nice for me this year in terms of tournaments. The eWorld Cup will be really hard – the top 16 players in each console, ‘MsDossary’, ‘Tekkz’ – it will be very close. I hope I’ll win it and I’m very confident.”
