After months of intense competition around the globe, the eagerly anticipated FIFA eWorld Cup 2019™ gets under way on Friday 2 August at The O2 in London.

Millions of players started out with the release of FIFA 19 in September 2018 and with the culmination of July’s FIFA 19 Global Series Playoffs, the world’s top 32 players will vie for the right to call themselves the world's best.

FIFA.com takes a look at PlayStation’s Group C which looks set to produce a plethora of tightly-contested encounters.

Nicknamed the ‘Iceman’ due to his signature coolness, ‘Nicolas99fc’ once again enters the eWorld Cup as the No1 PlayStation seed. The Argentinian finished the FIFA 19 Global Series Playoffs as the PlayStation champion in a year which also saw him lift the eClub World Cup and reach the final of the eNations Cup. It’s no wonder he goes into the Grand Final as one of the pre-tournament favourites.

Going into the Grand Final as PlayStation’s No4 seed, ‘LevVinken’ showed why he is a force to be reckoned with by reaching the final of the FIFA 19 Global Series Playoffs, losing out to eventual PlayStation champion ‘Nicolas99fc’. 2019 has seen the Dutchman reach the quarter-finals of the eChampions League, semi-finals of the eClub World Cup and the console final of April’s FUT Champions Cup.

Fan favourite ‘MoAuba’ makes a return to The O2 in London to compete at the eWorld Cup having also been present last year. Part of the six-person German contingent vying for global glory at the Grand Final, the Werder Bremen man represented Die Mannschaft at April’s eNations Cup, along with club team-mate ‘MegaBit’, and has been a consistent performer at the FUT Champions Cup - reaching the console final in December's edition in London.

An impressive FIFA 19 season has been capped with a Grand Final place for ‘Tuga810’. It’s reward for a campaign that saw him win the console final at February’s FUT Champions Cup before losing out to 'Tekkz' in the cross-console showdown, reach the semi-finals of the fiercely competitive eNations Cup with Portugal with compatriot ‘RastaArtur’ and claim a semi-final place at the Global Series Playoffs.

Representing Mesut Ozil’s M10 eSports, ‘Ustun’ will be flying the flag for Denmark at the eWorld Cup with Danish heavyweights ‘Agge’ and ‘Marcuzo’ missing out on a place in the PlayStation top 16. With strong FUT Champions Cup finishes - including winning the PlayStation side of March's edition - and reaching the semi-finals of the eNations Cup this year, ‘Ustun’ has demonstrated he can hold his nerve when the stakes are high.

2019 has seen ‘Tore’ sign for Dutch giants Ajax and represent Brazil at the eNations Cup. He impressed for A Seleção, topping a stacked group which featured Argentina, Germany, Norway and Sweden. The teenager will no doubt be looking to sign off a memorable competitive FIFA campaign with a bang at this year’s eWorld Cup.

One of the veterans on the competitive FIFA scene, 29-year-old ‘DrErhano’ booked an eWorld Cup berth despite missing out on the knockout stages of the FIFA 19 Global Series Playoffs. Part of the German contingent at the Grand Final, ‘DrErhano’ was one of VfB Stuttgart’s representatives at the Virtual Bundesliga 2019 Finals this year and reached the semi-finals of February's Gfinity FIFA Series.

‘Marko’ may be the 16th and final PlayStation seed at the eWorld Cup but he goes into the Grand Final as Australia’s E-League champion, the Sydney FC man beating the well-travelled ‘MarcusGomes’ in May’s final. 2019 has also seen ‘Marko’ become an international after representing the Socceroos at the eNations Cup back in April.
