FIFA President meets the Prime Minister of Greece

  • Gianni Infantino and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis talk about global football development and FIFA World Cup™ preparations

The FIFA President has met with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis of Greece, and held fruitful discussions on a wide range of topics. The meeting took place in Qatar, where the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ kicks off in 90 days’ time.

During the meeting Mr Infantino and Prime Minister Mitsotakis discussed the latest updates on football in Greece and the wider topic of global football development, a key part of The FIFA President’s Vision 2020-2023. President Infantino also provided an update on the preparations for the upcoming FIFA World Cup™ in Qatar, which begins when the host nation face Ecuador on 20 November 2022, at Al Bayt Stadium. In July 2022, President Infantino also hosted the newly elected President of the Hellenic Football Federation, Panagiotis Baltakos, for a meeting at FIFA’s offices in Paris.
