  • 'F2Tekkz' fast becoming a legend

  • Tight battles below the top positions in the rankings

  • Overview of the stories behind the FIFA 19 Global Series Rankings after the FUT Champions Cup in March

While young British gamer 'F2Tekkz' was busy extending his lead at the top of the pile, there was plenty of jostling for position a little further down as the latest FIFA 19 Global Series Rankings were published. Here is an overview of the main developments after the FUT Champions Cup in Singapore this March:

'F2Tekkz' - #1 Xbox

The British player is currently showing the rest of the gaming world a clean pair of heels. His victory at the FUT Champions Cup this March in Singapore saw him become the first player ever to break through the 9,000 Global Series Points barrier. It was also his third FUT Champions Cup win this year and fifth FIFA 19 Global Series title overall.

'StefanoPinna’ - #2 PlayStation

The Belgian FIFA eWorld Cup™ runner-has been is one of the most consistent players this season but tends to fly under the radar when people list the stars of the sport. His performances this year have been of a high standard and he again showed what he was capable of at the FUT Champions Cup in March. He looks a shoo-in to qualify for the FIFA eWorld Cup for a second time.

'M10Resende' - #4 Xbox

Pedro Resende is the most successful Brazilian so far this season across all consoles. He plays for Mesut Özil’s eSports Team which already qualified for the FIFA eWorld Cup in 2018, and like Stefano Pinna is one of the most consistent players of the current season. His showing at the FUT Champions Cup in March saw him take another step towards a second FIFA eWorld Cup participation.

'M10Üstün' - #5 PlayStation

The Dane made the world sit up and take notice with his second-placed finish at the recent FUT Champions Cup, underscoring his ambitions of qualifying for the FIFA eWorld Cup 2019. A team-mate of 'M10Resende', he leapt 16 spots in the rankings after the FUT Champions Cup.

'RastaArtur' - #8 PlayStation

The Portuguese gamer went out in the quarter-finals of the FUT Champions Cup in March to FIFA eWorld Cup finalist 'StefanoPinna', but his consistent performances earned him enough FIFA 19 Global Series points to see him climb five places to No.8 in the PlayStation rankings.

'SPQR Senna’ - #12 Xbox

The tournament in Singapore seemed to smile on the Brazilian in general, with 'SPQR Senna' rising 15 places up to No.12 in the Xbox rankings.

'Gorilla’ - #13 Xbox

The 2017 FIFA eWorld Cup winner battled his way back into the top 16 after the last tournament, significantly improving his chances of qualifying for the Grand Final for the third time in a row. He went out in the Round of 16 at the FUT Champions Cup in March to 'Jooh Senna’, but that was enough to gain him some crucial FIFA 19 Global Series points.

'Zezinho23_BRA’ - #16 PlayStation

Another Brazilian, this one rising 36 places after a successful stint in Singapore. Sitting at No.16 in the rankings, 'Zezinho23_BRA' is currently in line to qualify for the FIFA eWorld Cup 2019.

'SterrenStatuSs’ - #22 Xbox The Dutchman was one of the pleasant surprises of the FUT Champions Cup in Singapore, catapulting himself an incredible 77 spots up the rankings to get within touching distance of the top 16 and thus a place at the FIFA eWorld Cup 2019 table.

'N8 JAz‘ - #34 Xbox 'F2Tekkz' was the only gamer capable of halting the Australian’s progress at the FUT Champions Cup in March. The Antipodean outsider lost in the eventual winner at the quarter-final stage but that was enough to propel him 37 places up the rankings, making the tournament a successful one in terms of points and perhaps crucial for his play-off hopes.

'iMertAL' - #37 PlayStation

The man from Turkey made it through to the quarter-finals of the most recent FUT Champions Cup, going down in a tight contest to eventual finalist 'M10Ustun'. This was enough to send him no fewer than 45 places up the rankings, putting him among the play-off qualification spots.
