Los Angeles welcomed the 32 best gamers from Season 3 in the Americas on Friday and Saturday, with eight of them winning through from the regional final to the FIWC 2017 Grand Final.

Qualifiers for London:  *Playstation 4 *“LucasRep_98” (Brazil) “Rein10” (Mexico) “Nicolas99FC” (Argentina) “Zezinho23XX” (Brazil)

Xbox One “Roma Aman” (USA) “Janoz CFI” (Mexico) “Filthyp94” (Canada) “Epsilon Joey” (USA)

“Nicolas99FC” and “NYC_Didychrislito” dominated proceedings in Group 1 on day one of the competition, going unbeaten in all their games, as did “Elpoderosorafa” in Group 2. The day’s biggest points winner, however, was “Epsilon Joey”, who impressed in scoring six wins and suffering just the one defeat.

On day two, the 16 qualifiers from the group phase fought it out in the knockout stage, with the winners of the eight two-legged ties each securing a coveted ticket for London.

A finalist at the regional final in Miami, “LucasRep_98” of Brazil got the better of the much-feared “NYC_Didychrislito” in an exciting duel in the Playstation division.

Enjoying an altogether easier passage to London were “Rein10” and “Nicolas99FC”, who respectively beat “Impacto_Moorgado” and “Jko1707” without too much trouble.

Over in the Xbox division, veteran gamer “Janoz CFI” made his big-tournament experience count against “XX Benz XX”, while “Epsilon Joey” continued his impressive season with a hard-fought defeat of “I Spiderkong I”.

What’s next?  We now know 30 of the 32 gamers who will fight it out at the FIWC 2017 Grand Final. The last two slots will be filled at the inaugural FIFA Interactive Club World Cup (FICWC), to be held in London on 5 August.
