GROUP SCENARIOS

WHO'S IN

WHO'S OUT?

Heading into the last round of group matches, here is what you need to know...

GROUP A

The hosts' group is simple: Russia and Uruguay are through with six points each. The two will play in their third match for the right to top the table.

Eliminated: Egypt, Saudi Arabia

GROUP B

If Spain and Portugal avoid defeat against Morocco and IR Iran respectively, they both advance. The Iranians claim one of the spots if they defeat the Portuguese, or if they draw and Spain lose by more than a goal.

Eliminated: Morocco

GROUP C

With two victories, France are already through. Denmark (4 points) just need a point against the French, but if they lose the door opens for Australia (1).

Eliminated: Peru

GROUP D

One thing is clear: Croatia are through after two victories. The rest is wide open as Nigeria (3 points), Iceland and Argentina (1 each) are still alive with the latter two nations needing to win to have hope.

GROUP E

Brazil, Switzerland (both 4 points) and Serbia (3) know they will go through if they win, and each could also still advance with a draw if goal difference works out for them.

Eliminated: Costa Rica

GROUP F

If they avoid defeat against Sweden, Mexico are definitely through after two victories. The Swedes and Germans are in a dead heat on 3 points, so every goal and even card will be vital, while Korea need to beat Germany, hope Sweden lose and win a tie-breaker.

TIE-BREAKERS

GROUP G

Mirroring Group A, Belgium and England are both through with 6 points apiece, and they meet in their 3rd match only to decide who wins the group.

Eliminated: Panama, Tunisia

GROUP H

Japan and Senegal (both on 4 points) just need to avoid losing in their last matches against Poland and Colombia respectively to advance, while the Colombians (3) progress with a victory or even a draw if Japan lose.

Eliminated: Poland
