MBAPPE'S

BIG DAY

Has the world of football found its new icon?

“All the top players are at the World Cup. There is no better place to prove yourself.”

Kylian Mbappe

What a match the 19-year-old French forward had against Argentina!

He won a penalty and scored twice. His pace was a constant problem for the two-time champions, and he was poised in and around the box.

TEENAGE PROBLEMS

In a twist of fate for Argentina, Mbappe's big day came on the 20th anniversary of Michael Owen's famous goal against them at the 1998 World Cup.

Mbappe had not even been born!

MBAPPE IN RUSSIA ... SO FAR

At 19 years, 6 months, he's become the youngest Frenchman to play at a World Cup.

He scored the winner against Peru, and that decisive goal clinched France's place in the Round of 16.

He's won two Budweiser Man of the Match awards.

He is the sixth teenager to score multiple World Cup goals.

Are we witnessing the end of one era and the beginning of another?

IMPRESSING OFF THE PITCH TOO

He reportedly organised and paid for 25 school boys to come to Russia and see the World Cup.

He said he will give his France match fee to charity (almost 20,000 euros) because he does not think he should be paid to represent his country.

Kylian is a football lover. He breathes, eats and sleeps football. And what makes me happy is that he still has the same passion as when he was 14 or 15 years old.
