ROAD TO

THE FINAL

A historic come-from-behind win over England in the semi-final sees Croatia into their first World Cup Final. We take a look at their journey through Russia 2018, which will end in the biggest football match in the world in Moscow’s Luzhniki Stadium.

2-0

It was a relatively uninspiring start for Croatia, but they took all 3 points to start in Group D thanks to a Nigerian own goal and a Luka Modric penalty

HIGHLIGHTS

3-0

This was one to remember as Vatreni gave the 2014 finalists more than they could handle, especially in a rampant 2nd half that produced all of the goals.

HIGHLIGHTS

1-2

Croatia struggled to break down a brave Iceland side, but Ivan Perisic's goal won it in the 90th minute, and they finished the group stage as just 1 of 3 with a perfect record

HIGHLIGHTS

1-1

The Round of 16 match had 2 goals scored in the opening 4 minutes and then none for 116, but there was plenty of drama as Croatia won 3-2 in a penalty shootout. Goalkeeper Danijel Subasic was the hero, saving 3 penalties.

HIGHLIGHTS

2-2

A 2nd penalty shootout win in succession (4-3) saw Croatia into their second semi-final, 20 years after the first (France 98). Andrej Kramaric and Domagoj Vida scored the goals, but it was again Modric who pulled the strings in midfield.

HIGHLIGHTS

2-1

Croatia reached their first World Cup Final by holding their nerve after falling behind early. They went through after extra time thanks to goals by Man of the Match Ivan Perisic and the winner from Mario Mandzukic

HIGHLIGHTS

I'd say this tournament will be won by a team with character. We were down 1-0 in 3 games in a row and came back and won. I think we are a nation of character.
