A solid and experienced centre-back, Andreas Bjelland has learned to be equally adept as a full-back or a defensive midfielder. While his qualities have been measured in his ability to defend, he has a comfort on the ball that allows the teams he plays for to build play out of the back.
Alongside international team-mate Henrik Dalsgaard, Bjelland has established himself with Brentford in the English second-tier. With Denmark, the centre-back saw plenty of action in qualifying for Russia 2018, including starts in both legs of their play-off victory over Republic of Ireland. During the qualifiers for Brazil 2014, Bjelland scored in a 6-0 win over Malta in October 2013.
