16 Nov 2017
Faryd Mondragon made FIFA World Cup™ history at Brazil 2014. At 43 years and three days, the Colombian goalkeeper became the oldest person to feature at the global finals, coming on as a substitute against Japan and breaking the previous record set by Cameroon legend Roger Milla.
Though he was part of Los Cafeteros' squad at USA 1994, Mondragon made his first World Cup appearance at France 1998, before returning to the tournament and making history 16 years later. The former shot-stopper recalls his debut world finals and the personal significance of hearing both national anthems ahead of Colombia-England in Lens.
