Stadiums Update - August 2013

The installation of the roof at the Estadio Beira-Rio in Porto Alegre (pictured above) is one of the highlights of the latest edition of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™ Stadiums Update feature.

FIFA.com brings you the very latest unpublished images from the second half of August as construction work moves towards its conclusion at the six Brazil 2014 stadiums that have yet to be completed.

The Beira-Rio will stage four group matches and a Round-of-16 game at next year’s world finals. The venue is owned by Internacional, one of whose previous home grounds, the Estadio dos Eucaliptos, was used at the first FIFA World Cup to be held in Brazil, back in 1950.

The other five stadiums now in the final phase of construction are the Arena Pantanal in Cuiaba, the Arena da Baixada in Curitiba, the Arena Amazonia in Manaus, the Estadio das Dunas in Natal and the Arena de Sao Paulo.

The remaining six stadiums that will be used at Brazil 2014 (the Arena Pernambuco, Castelao, Estadio Nacional Mane Garrincha, Fonte Nova, Maracana and the Mineirao) have already been completed and all staged matches at the FIFA Confederations Cup Brazil 2013.

Published once a month at FIFA.com, Stadiums Update features photos of the venues that will host the biggest tournament in world football in Brazil from 12 June to 13 July next year.
