Huh Jung-Moo, Korea Republic coachI knew it would be difficult if we conceded an early goal, but the players reacted very well. And the penalty made it more difficult for us mentally as well. Asian football is on the up. But there's still a gap between us and the rest of the world, and we need to work harder to close the gap. Against Nigeria, for example, we had many chances and played attacking football even when we were leading.
Park Ji-Sung, Korea Republic midfielder and Budweiser Man of the MatchI recognise how difficult it is to reach the Round of 16, and I could see how much Korean football has progressed to see the team overcoming the pressure. Now that we've reached our first goal, we'll be preparing for the next goal and another win.
Lars Lagerback, Nigeria coachMostly I feel disappointed and sad. It's the results that count so there is not much to say, I can only congratulate the South Koreans. I’m very disappointed. We went down fighting. I think they players did really well today. They showed a big heart for Nigeria and I think we deserved to win. I think we deserved much better but that’s how it is in football sometimes. The players gave their all in all three matches.
Vincent Enyeama, Nigeria goalkeeperI’m feeling so bad for Nigeria who have supported us all this way. It’s like we have let down a whole lot of people. I would just like to apologise for letting the whole country down, the whole continent down. We have ourselves to blame and are at fault.
