Fabio Capello, England coachHe (Robert Green) made one mistake but then pulled off a great save in the second half. I was pleased for him. We had lots of chances in the game. There were a lot of positives. Just the result wasn't positive.
Bob Bradley, USA coachOur first game is still about getting something, but when you go behind early, I thought the response was good. I think after the goal, we started to put some plays together and built up confidence.
Steven Gerrard, England captain and midfielderWe need to get behind Robert and support him. I’m sure he will play a big part for us further down the line and he might make an important save that wins us a match so we are all behind him. When you go in front, a team like us and the way we defend, we expect to go on and win the match. It was a bit of a shock (conceding the goal) and took us a while to get over it but I thought we went on to finish the game stronger. The target now has to be seven points.
Clint Dempsey, USA midfielderAt least we got a point, that's the positive. We've got to go out and win these next two games. You always see people scoring like that and think ‘hey how come that never happens to me’. Finally, it’s a goal that the keeper probably should have made a save on but they all count the same if they go in.
Tim Howard, USA goalkeeperHe (Robert Green) has made a couple of really good saves. Unfortunately at this level, sometimes these things are going to happen. I feel terribly for him but when you are goalkeeping you have to have broad shoulders.
