Rules for the Contest
The below rules (the “Rules”) together with the Contest terms and conditions (“T&Cs”) govern the Contest.
What is the Contest?
The Climate Action campaign for 2018 FIFA World Cup ticket holders (the “Contest”) is a contest wherein participants are asked to read information about climate change and participate for a chance to be present at the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™.
How can I enter? Am I eligible?
To enter, first you should log in to your FIFA.com Club account on the FIFA.com website at www.fifa.com/theclub. If you are not an existing member of the site, you will be required first to register providing some basic information and select a screen name.
Once you have registered and accepted the FIFA.com Club terms and conditions (available at www.fifa.com/legal/terms-of-service.html) and the Contest terms and conditions (available at http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/climate-action) you can access the Contest.
In order to be eligible to participate in the Contest, all participants must be (i) a FIFA.com Club Member; (ii) eighteen (18) years of age or older as at the date of their entry into the Contest; and (iii) a 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ match ticket holder.
How many times can I enter?
Each participant can participate once in the Contest by submitting their entry through http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/climate-action.
Each individual should enter using only one FIFA.com Club account. If FIFA discovers that a participant with more than one account has participated in the Contest, all accounts will be removed from the Contest and all entries deemed void.
What is the Contest structure?
The Contest has 3 main phases:
- Phase 1 – Submit your entry Participants may submit their entry from 08:00 Central European Time (“CET”) on 14 April 2018 until 23:00 (CET) on 29 May 2018. Following registration, Participants will be able to submit their entry directly through the Contest web page.
- Phase 2 – Shortlisting and voting Thereafter, the entries will be subject to a random draw by FIFA from all entries correctly submitted in accordance with these Rules and the Contest T&Cs.
The selection in this phase of the Contest will be conducted according to the procedures established by FIFA. All decisions made with regard to selecting the prize winner shall be at the absolute discretion of FIFA and no Contest participant shall be entitled to challenge any such decisions.
- Phase 3 – Conclusion of the Contest Following the conclusion of Phase 2, one (1) entry will be chosen. The prize winner will be contacted by FIFA by email.
FIFA reserves the right, at any time and in its sole discretion, to vary, amend or waive any of these Rules (including any dates and/or times referenced within these Rules) for any reason whatsoever. Each participant agrees that no liability shall attach to FIFA as a result thereof and that the exercise of such discretion shall not result in any compensation being payable or paid to any participant or other person. To the extent that FIFA varies, amends or waives any of these Rules (including any dates and/or times referenced within these Rules),
it shall use reasonable efforts to inform all participants by way of communicating such on http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/climate-action.
What can I win?
The Contest prize winner shall receive a receive a trip for two (2) people to watch a match at the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™. Such a trip includes:
return economy-class flights for two people to Moscow, Russia, from the major airport closest to the primary residence of the prize winner;
at least one (1) night’s accommodation in a shared twin room of a hotel (of FIFA’s choosing) in Moscow, Russia; and
two (2) tickets to the final match of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ in Moscow, Russia.
How will I know if I have won?
FIFA will announce the prize winner on FIFA.com following the conclusion of the Contest. The announcement is, as at the date of writing, planned for 17 June 2018. FIFA will publish the prize winner’s screen name and country of residence. FIFA will also send the prize winner an email to which you will need to respond within five (5) days to claim the allocated prize. To the extent that FIFA is unable to contact the prize winner within five (5) days, FIFA reserves the right to allocate the given prize to an alternative participant.
The prize will only be awarded in accordance with the Contest T&Cs and these Rules of the Contest. In the unlikely event that a winner does not meet these Rules or the Contest T&Cs, another participant will be chosen to receive the prize.
