A skilful yet rugged central defender, Barroso is solid when it comes to individual physical battles and quick to cut out any danger emerging down the flanks. At club level, she played in England and Brazil, winning the Copa Libertadores Femenina in 2017, before moving to Spanish football in 2018. Called up for her country on a recurring basis since 2009, the centre-back was part of the starting XI at the 2012 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup and the 2014 and 2018 Copa America Femenina tournaments.
