The year 2018 may be drawing to a close, but one of its most exciting moments is still to come: the Draw for the FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019™ will be held on 8 December 2018! Anticipation is growing among not just the participating teams but also fans from all over the world. Football lovers cannot wait to find out who their country has been drawn against, and in which cities they will be able to watch the matches.
To help the time pass more quickly, and to whet your appetite even more, FIFA.com has started its countdown to the draw. Every day, we are offering a statistic or a piece of information linked to the biggest event in women’s football.
Just two days to go!
The number of auditoriums at La Seine Musicale, the venue of the Draw for the FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019™. The main space, La Grande Seine, can accommodate between 2,500 and 6,000 people, depending on the nature of the event, while L’Auditorium has a capacity for 1,150 spectators. Two also represents the number of special guests who will conduct the draw, namely ex-footballers Alex Scott and Louis Saha. The former, who represented England from 2004 to 2017, called time in 2018 on a career that had seen her claim a bronze medal at Canada 2015 and win one UEFA Women's Champions League, five English Women's Premier League titles and seven English FA Cups with Arsenal. Saha, meanwhile, won 20 caps for France and enjoyed playing spells in France, Italy and notably England, where he twice won the English Premier League title with Manchester United.
