Relive the refereeing media briefing

A media briefing with Pierluigi Collina, Chairman of FIFA’s Refereeing Committee, Massimo Busacca, Head of FIFA’s Refereeing Department and Kari Seitz, FIFA's Senior Manager of Refereeing was streamed live on FIFA.com and FIFA TV on YouTube.

The briefing took place at the Parc des Princes in Paris on Wednesday 26 June 2019, during which there was a short presentation about refereeing and the use of VAR at the FIFA Women's World Cup France 2019™ so far, followed by a Q&A session.

Some topics covered during the presentation were:

  • The make-up of the refereeing team, including the level of training received

  • Facts and figures from the first 44 games at France 2019

  • The use of VAR, including the frequency of reviews, at the tournament so far
