Women's World Cup Draw: Just two weeks to go!

  • The countdown to France 2019 has begun

  • Draw takes place in two weeks, on 8 December 2018

  • Tickets available HERE

We told you to save the date a couple of weeks ago, when the countdown to the big event reached the one-month-to-go mark. The clock has kept on ticking since then, which means it is time for another little reminder that the Draw for the FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019™ is nearly upon us, with just two weeks remaining.

Two more teams have added their names to the list of qualifiers since our last reminder. Argentina won the intercontinental play-off between the third-placed team from CONMEBOL and the fourth-placed CONCACAF side, while the Netherlands emerged victorious from the European play-offs, which featured semi-finals and a final, all played over two legs.

There are now just four places to be filled to complete the 24-team line-up for the tournament, which takes place next June and July. Three of them will go to African representatives and the fourth to the winners of the Oceania qualifying competition, at which point things will start to get very serious, indeed.

Where and when

Saturday 8 December 2018 at 18:00 (local time) La Seine Musicale, Boulogne-Billancourt (Hauts-de-Seine), Paris

Make sure you do not miss the qualifiers’ meeting with destiny. Hosts France and the 23 other teams, who have had to make their way through the preliminaries, will shortly find out what fate will have in store for them in the group phase. The Draw will feature four pots, each containing six teams, who will be drawn to form six groups of four teams. Team seedings will be based on the FIFA/Coca-Cola Women’s World Ranking released on 7 December 2018.

As we wait for their fate to be decided, FIFA.com will be giving you a glimpse of what to expect at the draw ceremony, thanks to our FIFA Women's World Cup France 2019 Draw Simulator. An app that puts the destiny of the 24 teams in YOUR hands, it lets you take on the role of Lady Luck and predict which teams will play in which groups.

You can compare your forecast with the groups proper when the Final Draw takes place on Saturday 8 December. Don’t worry, there are just two more weeks to wait!
