FIFA Women's World Cup
Bringing the deaf and hard of hearing closer to France 2019
03 Jun 2019
While FIFA on YouTube and FIFA.com will bring you all the highlights from the 52 matches played between 7 June and 7 July, a daily review of all the action in France will also be produced in International Sign Language for the deaf and hard of hearing.
The 25 matchday videos will be on FIFA.com and FIFA on YouTube, allowing the 70 million people who are deaf or hard of hearing around the globe to enjoy all the key moments from the competition.
Maciej Joniuk, a deaf member of the FIFA Fan Movement, said: "It makes such a difference in the deaf community to have this option around the big tournaments. It is especially true for those of us who love football and want to follow all the action in France, which is sure to be thrilling."
FIFA published a short summary in International Sign Language of each match at Russia 2018 to a hugely positive reception, both from deaf fans on social media and global media outlets.
The video above shows exactly how these reviews are produced and tailored to the specific needs of the deaf and hard of hearing community.
