150,000 FIFA Women's World Cup tickets sold since sales opened

In September, ticket packages for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2019™ went on sale, and since then an impressive 45,000 packages have been sold (150,000 tickets).

FIFA Women’s World Cup™ fever is spreading around the world in the build-up to the tournament, which will set the stage for the world’s best players to compete in world-class venues across France. The biggest buyers of ticketing packages so far come from France and the USA (86 per cent).

The tournament will take place across nine Host Cities in France: Grenoble, Le Havre, Lyon, Montpellier, Nice, Paris, Reims, Rennes and Valenciennes, and each has reported brisk ticket sales.

Lyon, which will host the semi-finals (2-3 July) and the final (7 July), has already sold all of its packages for three matches, more than 22,000 (69,000 tickets). Single tickets will be available after the draw during the Visa pre-sale phase.

In addition to Lyon, the Host Cities of Paris, Rennes and Valenciennes have also seen impressive sales, with 10,000 tickets sold in Rennes, 18,000 in Paris and 22,000 in Valenciennes.

The first sales phase, launched in September, offers ticket packages starting from EUR 25 allowing fans to watch three matches at one of the stadiums. Ticket offers have been designed to highlight the stages of the tournament and the number of matches that each stadium will host. A total of nine different ticket packages are on offer so that fans can attend between three and seven matches, depending on which package they purchase.

Category 4 ticket packages (EUR 29) for the opening ceremony and opening match – featuring the French national team - of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2019 are still available and will provide access to two other games at Paris’ Parc des Princes stadium. Over one million tickets will be on sale for the competition, which will take place from 7 June to 7 July 2019 and will see 24 teams battle it out for World Cup glory over 52 matches. Tickets for the competition are intended to be accessible and affordable to encourage fans to be part of a true festival of women’s football.

On 10 December, individual tickets will go on sale until 23 December 2018. Visa cardholders will have the first opportunity to purchase individual match tickets during the Visa exclusive pre-sale phase. As a FIFA Partner for the FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019 ticket sales, Visa is thrilled to celebrate the spirit of football and looks forward to showcasing the future of digital payments with fans from all over the globe.

The Draw for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2019 will take place in Paris on 8 December, and the full match schedule for the tournament will be available on FIFA.com following the draw.
