Sweden coach Thomas Dennerby
Everyone could see that Japan were the better side. We were in the game for the first 30 minutes, but then they scored with their first opportunity. It was a tough match. Japan simply wanted it more than we did. They put in an outstanding tactical display and I think they pose a real threat to the USA.
Japan coach Norio Sasaki
The players did exactly what we'd planned. They moved well and concentrated throughout. It was proof of the quality we're capable of and in the end it was enough to earn a result. We wanted to reach the final - we said that ahead of the tournament. The Nadeshiko are my pride and joy. They've learned so much here.
Japan midfielder and Player of the Match Aya Miyama
We're in the Final of the Women's World Cup for the very first time. Ahead of the match we sat down together as a team and promised to give our all and play our own game. Now we need to do that in the Final. We managed to keep calm even after conceding, and we put everything we'd trained into practice.
