After the first qualifying round (6-11 April 2017), the remaining 35 teams are divided into seven groups of five. The top teams in each group directly qualify for the FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019. The top four best second-placed teams will enter a playoff round, featuring two-legged semi-finals and final to determine the eighth qualifier. Italy and Spain are the first two teams from Europe to qualify after hosts France.
