Over 10,000 fans across the globe pledge support for #LiveYourGoals

With the group phase of the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015™ drawing to a close, our #LiveYourGoals social media campaign and new website - featuring videos of support from Abby Wambach (USA) and Christine Sinclair (CAN) - have received overwhelming support.

Abby and Christine have been joined by some of the world’s favourite women footballers, as well as coaches, member association officials and former players, in pledging to help increase the number of girls and women playing football from 30 to 45 million by the FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019™. The campaign has also received support from actresses Judy Reyes and Roselyn Sanchez as well as FIFA Executive Committee members Moya Dodd and Sonia Bien-Aime.

In the first two weeks of this social media campaign, over 10,000 pledges have been received from people in 83 countries. However, we still have a lot of work ahead of us!

As we continue to raise awareness of women’s football around the world and encourage more female footballers to dust off their boots and play the game, our aim is simple: to ensure football remains the fastest growing sport among women.

On this new website, you will find out about Live Your Goals projects around the world, your local football association’s contact details, watch videos of your favourite female football stars sharing their stories and see the official Live Your Goals TV advert.

Are you in? Join the stars and pledge your support on lyg.fifa.com, and spread the word on your social channels using #LiveYourGoals so we can reach our target, together.
