A rewarding and fruitful Live Your Goals festival was wrapped up in the Jordanian city of Al-Zarqa with joy overwhelming the participant girls who attended from Al-Zarqa’s various schools.
Jordan Football Association (JFA), in coordination with the Local Organizing Committee of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Jordan 2016 conducted the successful event on 27 February. 144 girls between the ages of six and 14 attended and enjoyed the football festival under the guidance of 24 female grassroots coaches and school teachers. The festivities took place at the Prince Mohammed Stadium in the city of Al-Zarqa.
The festival gave the young girls the opportunity to learn from Live Your Goals Jordanian ambassadors Hiba Fakhr Al-Deen, Malak Shannak, and Tasneem Abu Al-Rub, who attended the festival, participated in the activities, and shared their footballing experience with the girls. The players took special attention from the participants, with many of them expressing their wishes to become fellow national team players one day. The Jordanian stars encouraged the girls to follow their dreams and assured them that with hard work one day it can come true.
The Live Your Goals campaign in Jordan continues to fulfil its main objective by giving the chance for more girls to discover the joy of playing football and encouraging them to play the game, while growing the popularity of women's football in all governorates of the Kingdom.
Live Your Goals was initially launched by FIFA in 2011 during the FIFA Women's World Cup™ in Germany, and the campaign was then introduced to a diverse list of countries around the world including Azerbaijan, Canada, and Costa Rica to name a few.
