The FIFA Development Committee have outlined 27 new Goal projects to be implemented around the world, including the first to be planned for Indonesia.

The south-east Asian nation will benefit from a new artificial turf pitch in Jakarta after the Development Committee met on 3 September at the Home of FIFA. Additional infrastructural plans were set in place for member associations across five confederations courtesy of Goal schemes, which are tailored to provide for the specific football development needs of each country.

Since 1999 FIFA has invested approximately USD 260 million through Goal. “Indonesia is a country with an immense potential in which football’s popularity has been increasing over the past years,” said FIFA Director Member Associations and Development Thierry Regenass.

“We are very pleased that after some internal issues that affected the local football structures have been resolved, the first FIFA Goal project will be implemented.”

In addition to those plans, 16 new recipients were also confirmed for FIFA's Performance programme, which is devised to aide in developing the organisational side of the member associations.

Also, Côte d'Ivoire (CAF) and Costa Rica (CONCACAF) will be granted USD 500,000 each as part of FIFA’s Income Generation Programme. The committee also included Afghanistan and Timor Leste (AFC), Eritrea and Madagascar (CAF), and Tonga (OFC) for FIFA’s Less Privileged Member Associations Initiative.
