- Forward Programme section on FIFA.com revamped with innovative tool
- Key info & stories about Forward projects & funding of individual member associations available via FIFA Forward Impact Map
In a move to bring greater transparency and recognition to the important and groundbreaking work being carried out across the world thanks to vital funding through the FIFA Forward Programme, FIFA has revamped its Forward Programme section on FIFA.com.
The page now gives users easier access to the stories behind the development projects and initiatives, as well as up-to-date information about the status and amounts of approved and remaining funding for each member association and confederation.
Impact Map offers a window on Forward development projects
The interactive FIFA Forward Impact Map allows users to visualise the latest data related to projects and development initiatives being undertaken by the 211 member associations across the six confederations, including funding allocations.
Enhancing the version launched in September, the Impact Map now also includes many of the stories behind the projects. There is an array of different case studies that can be accessed by clicking on member association territories. The stories cover the full range of project types offered under the Forward Programme, from new pitches in Mongolia and a technical centre in Honduras, to youth competitions in Poland and a whole suite of projects in Botswana.
While Forward financial data is presented each year in FIFA’s Annual Report, the Impact Map is yet another step towards greater transparency around the distribution of development funding to FIFA members and allows for more regularly updated figures. The map also provides a breakdown of each member association’s funding by project type, helping to build a picture of their specific needs.
In the coming weeks and months, users can look forward to regular stories on a whole range of inspiring football development initiatives that are being carried out by member associations with the support of FIFA Forward Programme funding.
They will appear both in the Forward Programme news feed and via the interactive FIFA Forward Impact Map.
