A significant milestone was reached this morning in the build-up to the FIFA U-20 World Cup which will take place in Turkey in June and July of this year. FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter welcomed officials from the Turkish Halkbank to the Home of FIFA for a ceremony which saw the bank confirmed as the first National Supporter of the event.

“We are very happy to welcome Halkbank on board for this year’s FIFA U-20 World Cup” said Blatter. “Their support gives vital impetus to the promotion of this year’s event which will bring together the best young footballing stars from all over the world”.

Halkbank sees the sponsorship as an opportunity to enhance its image in Turkey and across the world, and continue its tradition for supporting sport events, while strengthening the ties between younger generations and the bank.

"As Halkbank, we are increasing our support for sporting events by including football in our sponsorship portfolio," commented Halkbank Head of PR, Yalcin Kaya. "We are proud to be a sponsor of FIFA U-20 World Cup, which is going to be organised in Turkey for the first time this year. In supporting events that showcase young football talent, we are aiming to help young Turkish athletes rise to new heights."
