- Joshua Sargent is joint-top scorer at Korea Republic 2017
- Youngest USA goalscorer in U-20 World Cup history
- USA go top of Group F
USA edged Senegal 1-0 to go top of Group F at the FIFA U-20 World Cup Korea Republic 2017 after Joshua Sargent once again found the back of the net.
Seventeen-year-old Sargent scored in the 34th minute for his third of the tournament. The St. Louis native received a pass from Luca de la Torre near the edge of the penalty area before turning his defender superbly and going on to shoot past Mouhamed Mbaye for what would ultimately be the winning goal.
USA's defence, which shipped two early goals to Ecuador in their opening match, looked far more steady throughout the match as they limited the scoring chances of Ibrahima Niane, Aliou Badji and Co.
Tab Ramos' side will next face Saudi Arabia in Daejeon in the last group matchday.
