Brazil and Paraguay have won South America’s two tickets to the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup France 2018.
The pair maintained their perfect records on Sunday in the final stage of qualifying to reach France 2018 with a match to spare.
Brazil continued their impressive form by easing to a 5-0 win over Venezuela, having defeated Colombia 4-0 on Thursday.
Paraguay turned in a strong second half to defeat Colombia 4-2, following a 1-1 half-time scoreline in the latter match.
It is only Paraguay’s second qualification for the U-20 Women’s World Cup, having previously featured at Canada 2014. Brazil, for their part, maintained their record of qualifying for every tournament dating back to the maiden event in 2002.
The pair’s qualification concludes a busy weekend across the globe in which Ghana and Nigeria both qualified as Africa’s two representatives, while Mexico, USA and Haiti earned CONCACAF’s three spots.
