The Netherlands have touched down in Brazil for the U-17 World Cup
They'll compete in Group D alongside Japan, Senegal and USA
Oranje begin their journey against Japan on 27 October
On Monday evening the Netherlands became the first team to reach Vitoria, one of three host cities for the FIFA U-17 World Cup Brazil 2019, which kicks off on 26 October.
The Oranje arrive in Brazil as back-to-back European champions at the U-17 level, having clinched their most recent title via a 4-2 victory over Italy in May. The action will begin for Peter van der Veen's side on Sunday 27 October, when they take on Japan at 20:00 local time from the Kleber Andrade Stadium in Vitoria.
In addition to Japan, the Netherlands are joined by Senegal and USA in Group D. The Oranje squad boasts many emerging talents, including Liverpool defender Ki-Jana Hoever.
Making their fourth appearance at the tournament, the Netherlands' best finish came at Peru 2005, where they earned bronze by defeating Turkey in the third-place match.
