Memorable moments
Pina puts pressure on Abdulai: The race for the adidas Golden Boot at Uruguay 2018 is on! Claudia Pina scored her fourth goal in as many matches at the tournament in Spain's quarter-final victory over Korea DPR to move to within two goals of Ghana's Mukarama Abdulai, who currently leads the top scorers' race. Will Abdulai add to her tally against Mexico tomorrow?
Communication is key: An important aspect of football is on-pitch communication. That was on full display as Korea DPR's players were constantly instructing each other throughout their quarter-final against Spain, ensuring their team-mates were in the right positions and knew when Spain were applying any pressure.
Kiwi spirit lights up Colonia: Estadio Profesor Alberto Suppici rang with chants from the travelling New Zealand supporters during their quarter-final with Japan. Perhaps New Zealand's impressive performance against 2014 champions Japan was given a boost from their friends and family, who travelled thousands of kilometres to witness their country's first U-17 Women's World Cup knockout match.
Keepers steal the spotlight: After 23 outfield players were named player of the match at Uruguay 2018, there have now been three consecutive games in which goalkeepers have taken home the award. Wiebke Willebrandt started the streak with her incredible performance against USA in the group stage. Spain's Catalina Coll and New Zealand's Anna Leat then both produced superb displays in their respective penalty shootouts to lead their teams to the last four.
Members of the senior New Zealand women's national team, who are currently competing in Oceania's qualification tournament for the Women's World Cup, watch the U-17 side clinch their historic victory
The words
"The players who played in two World Cups prior to this tournament bring a lot of experience to the team and help the others. I call them the three captains. They lead the team and are a big part of our success."
Spain head coach Maria Is on goalkeeper Catalina Coll and forwards Claudia Pina and Eva Navarro
