Launch of Host City Composite Logos for FIFA Women's World Cup 2011
As preparations for the FIFA Women's World Cup Germany 2011 intensify in the tournament's host nation, FIFA and the Local Organising Committee (LOC) are proud to announce the launch of the Host City composite logos. Each of the nine logos has been designed to form an intrinsic link between each Host City and the tournament, which will take place in Germany in the summer of 2011.
"The great enthusiasm of the host cities is a key element in ensuring the success of the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011" said Thierry Weil, Director of Marketing at FIFA "The launch of the Host City Logos gives the individual cities a communication tool which can be used to form a clear association with the event"
The logos will be a significant tool in building anticipation and interest in the event on a local level, with each Host City able to create their own identity within the framework of the whole event.
"The Host Cities now have a distinguishing feature to carry the passion forward in a variety of areas in the run up to the opening match. All nine logos are packed with meaning and underline the uniqueness of the Host Cities", commented OC President Steffi Jones.
The logos will be officially launched on Thursday 18 June 2009 as part of the "Countdown in Bochum". This event will be hosted at the FIFA Women's World Cup Stadium Bochum and is one of a series of events aimed at enhancing awareness, popularity and enthusiasm in the build-up to the tournament.
