2011 in high demand: 300,000 tickets sold already

More than 300,000 tickets have already been sold for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Germany 2011™. 50,000 have been ordered since the start of individual ticket sales on 15 September 2010, with orders arriving from over 20 different countries, including the USA, Japan, South Africa, Australia, Malta and Israel.

Aside from the opening match, the final and the group games involving hosts Germany, other matches, such as the match for third place in Sinsheim and the four quarter-finals, have been in particularly high demand.

"These sales figures once again demonstrate the popularity of the Women's World Cup among the public in Germany and abroad," said OC President Steffi Jones. "Despite the high demand there is still a good chance of getting a ticket, as the OC Ticket Centre will make further batches available through its online ticket shop. I would advise fans to regularly check our website,, for ticket offers and updates."

Sales of individual tickets will continue until 31 December 2010 on a first-come, first-served basis. A total of 700,000 tickets are on general sale for the 32 Germany 2011 matches in the host cities of Augsburg, Berlin, Bochum, Dresden, Frankfurt, Leverkusen, Monchengladbach, Sinsheim and Wolfsburg.
