Shifting powers in South America?

From Simon Lugo (United States) When it was announced that Lionel Messi would be reintroduced into Argentina's lineup after 265 days away, it seemed to spell bad news for opponents Venezuela. But La Vinotinto were unfazed, dispatching La Albiceleste 3-1 in Madrid to secure one of the international break's most impressive wins. @simonsoccerstyle certainly took note.

Juventus Women's unforgettable weekend

From Emma Clarke (England) Only a week removed from Barcelona and Atletico Madrid setting an attendance record for women's club football at 60,739, Juventus Women attracted 39,000 passionate fans for their debut at Allianz Stadium against Fiorentina. Not only did they smash Italy's previous attendance record by over 20,000 fans, as @Emma042198 pointed out, but they also registered a 1-0 victory.

Mane's moment

From Natalie Basson (South Africa) As the men's game transitions back into club football, Liverpool's Sadio Mane looks poised to continue his hot scoring streak. @BloodsugarNatz commemorates the Senegalese forward's 20 goals across all competitions for the Reds this season.

Santi's swan song

From Anita Sambol (Croatia) Two years ago it looked like then-Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla's career was over. Complications from multiple surgeries on a painful ankle injury had him in tears and on the verge of hanging up his boots. But now he's back and thriving for the club that made him a professional, Villarreal. @arsenalofka and the rest of the footballing world are heartened to see Cazorla doing what he loves again.
