France 2019: 200 days to go

The eighth FIFA Women’s World Cup™ is approaching fast, with only 200 days remaining until the big kick-off. Comprising nine Host Cities, 24 teams and 52 matches, France 2019 is set to be one big celebration!

Nearly 45,000 ticket packages have been sold to date, the equivalent of 150,000 seats. Those figures represent a very promising start to the ticketing campaign and underline the growing interest in women’s football among fans around the world.

"We have decided to make tickets affordable for as many people as possible and for families in particular, the aim being to make this World Cup a fun and well-attended event,” said Local Organising Committee President Erwan Le Prevost. “Tickets have been on sale for less than two months and the initial sales figures are very encouraging and reveal the high level of interest in the competition.

"In Lyon, where the semi-finals and final will be played, all available packages have sold out already. Fans have been busy in other parts of the country too. In the Nord and Brittany regions, for example, stadiums are filling up very nicely indeed even though it’s not yet known who’ll be playing there. We are confident that stadiums will continue to fill up, especially after the official draw on 8 December.”

As the host nation, France will occupy top position in Group A when the Final Draw is made and already know that they will be playing their three group matches in Paris, Nice and Rennes. The other 23 finalists will have to wait until 8 December to find out when and where they will be playing, when the Final Draw takes place at the Seine Musicale in Boulogne-Billancourt, Paris.
