Reigning champions Japan visit Canadian Embassy in Tokyo
World champion coach Norio Sasaki made a visit to the Canadian Embassy in Tokyo, Japan. The 14 May visit promoted the upcoming FIFA Women's World Cup Canada 2015™, with the Japan team set to arrive in Canada on 1 June to begin their title defence.
Said Mackenzie Clugston, Ambassador of Canada to Japan, "Japan's team has become popular in Canada after the previous tournament. I wish we can see the Final Match of Canada against Japan in Vancouver on 5 July."
As part of the visit, Mr. Clugston and coach Sasaki exchanged some information about Canada.
"We visited Vancouver last October for a Women's International Friendly and we were impressed by the beauty of the city," said coach Sasaki. "Japan will make good preparations in order to make our players in best condition, both physically and technically."
The FIFA Women's World Cup Canada 2015 runs from 6 June to 5 July in six Canadian Host Cities. Japan will play their first two matches in Vancouver (8 and 12 June) before playing their third group match in Winnipeg (16 January). Tickets to all matches are available via FIFA.com/Canada2015.
