100 days to go

The 100th FIFA Women’s World Cup™ match was played on 25 September 2003 between China PR and Australia. Heather Garriock opened the scoring for the Matildas before Bai Jie equalised just after the interval, with the Group D clash finishing 1-1.

Australia finished bottom of the group, with that draw against China PR their only point of the tournament, while their opponents that day advanced to the quarter-finals, where they were knocked out by Canada.
