Player ELYSA (BRA) fined and suspended for three matches
Under the chairmanship of Mr Marcel Mathier (SUI), the FIFA Disciplinary Committee announced today that the player ELYSA (BRA) has been suspended for three matches of the FIFA U-19 Women’s World Championship Thailand 2004 and must pay a fine of CHF 1,000 as a result of the direct red card she received for violent conduct in the match BRA-NGA on 13 November 2004.
The three-match suspension, which corresponds to the seriousness of the offence, includes the automatic one-match suspension already served by the player for the match CHN-BRA on 16 November 2004. Thus, ELYSA must still serve two further match-day suspensions, including Brazil’s quarter-final match against the runner-up of group C on 21 November at Supachalasai Stadium in Bangkok as well as the semi-final, should Brazil advance beyond the quarter-final stage.
